Il driver rtl8723bs, introdotto nell'area staging con Linux 4.12 nel 2017, è ancora lì dopo anni di pulizia del codice e ulteriori interventi necessari. L'eventuale integrazione in RTW88 segnerebbe un nuovo tentativo di superare i limiti di un driver rimasto problematico a lungo.
